What is a Restomod Classic Car/Truck?
What Is A Restomod?
The label Restomod is a combination of the two words Restoration and Modification. These two words have meaning onto themselves. Restoration is associated with a project being restored to it’s original factory specification. Then the word modification is used for builds that have used modern aftermarket parts to provide more performance or comfort. A Restomod build combines these two, were you can pick and choose certain parts to make your build exactly what you want.
What Are The Benefits?
Full restorations do have their place, being a preservation to share and collect and sometimes can be very valuable when done right. On the other hand a restomod makes the car exactly your own. If you want to track the car, adding better suspension and durable components is a great idea. Then adding some modern parts such as a disk brake conversion or lights can make the car a lot safer. In the end a dependable comfortable classic car can still have a very high resell value as there is a demand for daily drivable classics.
